Some events and special activities that are held annually include:
All-Church
Retreat. Generally, a weekend in June, held at Pine Creek
Camp in Pine Village, Indiana, the retreat features workshops, worship,
outdoor activities such as swimming and hiking, and social activities
such as dancing and music.
All-Church
Picnic.
Traditionally held in mid-summer, the potluck picnic is usually
held at Happy Hollow Park.
Canvass Dinner.
All members and friends are invited to this annual event in
the fall which kicks off the annual canvass (pledge drive). The
evening features good food and fellowship and a program highlighting
the importance of the UU church to us all.
Holiday Art
Show & Sale. This event is a showcase for local artists
and a fund-raiser for the congregation. Generally held in late November
or early December, the Art Show & Sale is a well-respected tradition
in the Lafayette area.
Rummage Sale.
Usually held in the late spring, the annual rummage sale is
a service to the community and a fund-raising event for the congregation.
Clothing
Drive.
The Social Responsibility Committee generally sponsors this
event in early summer. Donations of clothing are collected and given
to Goodwill, which then provides vouchers to be distributed to low-income
families through agencies such as LUM.
